Local Medical Data – A press conference by Buncombe County officials was held yesterday and the overall number of positive cases in the County remains the same at 37, of which 33 have recovered and been released from isolation.
Agriculture – The lockdown and resulting closure of restaurants, schools sport and music venues and farmers markets is causing a significant disruption to the food supply. Not only does it affect the cash flow of farmers but it also impacts their ability to plan for future demand. The resulting disruption will only get worse as the lockdown and closures continue.
Medical Data On Fatality Rate – The results of a preliminary study in Germany which tested 80% of the population of Gangelt, a town of about 2,500 residents in the Heinsberg region which is one of the hardest hit in Germany by the pandemic, shows, among other things, a fatality rate of 0.37%. As this study continues, it should produce some interesting results.
